Stephan Hengst.

Stephan Hengst (born 1983 in Berlin) is an artist, project and event manager with many years of experience. Amongst other things, he has been the director of the Berlin Music Commission’s music industry conference, Most Wanted: Music, since 2014, and was the production and event manager of the Berlin-based interdisciplinary technology festival Tech Open Air for six years. Since 2019 he has been Director of Events at WeAreDevelopers, the world’s largest conference for software development with approx. 10,000 participants.

Stephan’s background is the music business. After many years as a musician, producer and songwriter in various bands, Stephan was one of the first to study music business at the Pop Academy in Mannheim and founded the artist management agency Teleporter Music before the end of his studies. In addition to his full-time jobs, Stephan Hengst lectured on music management and music marketing at various universities and other educational institutions (including Macromedia Hochschule, SAE Institute, Music Pool Berlin, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg) from 2012 to 2017. Stephan’s professional career began at the age of 16 with a commercial apprenticeship at the then DaimlerChrysler Group.
