Short Bio:
After studying philosophy and marketing training, Olaf Kretschmar entered the music industry in the early 1990s and “co-invented club culture in Berlin” (Berliner Zeitung April 2007).
In 2007 he co-founded the Berlin Music Commission eG (BMC). He was made Cluster Manager in 2008, and since 2011 has been Chairman of the Board of the BMC.
In 2009 Kretschmar launched Berlin Music Week, and one year later became chairman of the organising committee of the first Berlin Music Week event.
From 2010 to 2012 he led the “Music 2020 Berlin” campaign, whose primary goal was to establish Musicboard Berlin. In 2014, together with many colleagues from BMC, he set up the Music Industry Competence Centre.
