Info:
Mona Rübsamen is a member of the 5th generation of the Steinbeis family of entrepreneurs and industrial pioneers. After her studies (Social and Business Communication, HdK Berlin) she worked as a correspondent for MTV Europe and was responsible for the program development of MTV Germany as a member of the European management team from 1998.
In 2001, she founded the company M2M Medien.Marken.Musik GmbH together with Markus Kühn. In addition to the agency business, the focus was on the development of new business areas in the emerging convergence and digitalization of the media. In 2004, they founded Plattform GmbH with the goal of developing and implementing innovative, cross-media media formats.
FluxFM (lat. fluere = to flow, eng. “to be in flux” = in flux) is the name of the cross-media station network. With a unique music format beyond the mainstream, an international radio alliance, a dedicated editorial team and unorthodox reporting, FluxFM shows profile and attitude.
As a radio station, online medium and with the affiliated venue FluxBau, FluxFM offers guidance for people socialized and interested in pop culture and is always in dialogue with its audience – “communicasting” instead of broadcasting. FluxFM sees itself as a network and platform for the city’s wide-ranging cultural scene and creative minds, and is therefore also a regular media partner of events such as Berlin Web Week, the German Gamestage, re:publica, Berlin Art Week, Fashion Week and the Ministry of Economics’ “Culture and Creative Pilots” initiative. In Berlin, the station regularly reaches 2 million listeners or users via FM, nationally via 4 online radio stations as well as via the app FluxMusic.
FluxFM was awarded the ECHO in 2013 for its innovative music format and sustainable promotion of young talent. At the Music Industry Awards in Los Angeles (April 2014), FluxFM was named the most innovative radio station for “Outstanding Contribution to the Worldwide Music Industry,” beating out the BBC, Triple J (Australia) and Sirius (USA). In September 2014, FluxFM was honored with the German Radio Award in the “Best Presenter” category.
As managing partner and program director, Mona Rübsamen is responsible for the transmedia expansion of the program offering, the development of the national and international network structure, as well as the strategic orientation of the company. She is chairwoman of the IHK committee for creative industries and is active as a jury member of the Media Innovation Center Babelsberg (MIZ) in the field of education and training.
