Melissa Perales (USA) moved to Berlin from Chicago in the 90’s, bringing with her an “anythings possible” spirit to the many projects she is involved with. Her expertise lies in music, film (Circles of Confusion Film Festival) as well as the culinary world (UCF restaurant). Since 2004 she has been promoting live-shows and film screenings under the moniker M:Soundtrack. Her super power is bringing music communities together and supporting the artists to grow beyond the stages she curates. She is a founding member of Torstraßenfestival in Berlin, a cross-genre music festival that was inititated in 2011. She is a board member of all2gethernow e.V., a platform for new strategies in the music industry. Since 2014 she has been a founding member of Music Pool Berlin. A central consulting point for musicians and music industry experts. Every week she is consulting musicians and helping them towards their professional careers. Melissa is a partner in Supertape Berlin, a music supervising company, for Film & TV with the producer Sabine Steyer. In 2017, Melissa became the co-founder and curator of a new festival We Make Waves, a Berlin based network for women, trans and non-binary in music. Her next mission in 2019 saw her, leaving the once a year festival format and creating together, just prior to the pandemic, with Antje Grothe (Media Producer), a platform for an intersectional and intergenerational community of female identifying and non binary artists working in both music and other creative industries, called Night School, Here she realizes the potential of her interdiciplinary work approach and experience and facilitates knowledge-sharing, mentorship, career building, connectivity and promotes community spirit and resilience, especially among the BIPOC and *Flinta communities in Berlin. Aside from this she moderates panels and curates discursive live and online events with music. Supporting the local music and creative community has been a great part of her resume since 1995. Besides all of this Melissa is a pretty good dinner party hostess and Bar DJ but her main job is being a mom to two boys, 7 and 20 years old.
