Info:
İÇ İÇE, which means “intertwined” or “interwoven” in Turkish, is the first and only diversely positioned festival for new Anatolian music in Germany.
The Anatolian region has always been a melting pot for the most diverse cultural currents and musical traditions. Since the 60s at the latest, these have been unfolding anew in our immediate neighborhood and influencing our everyday life and nightlife, from the underground to pop culture. How artists reinterpret cultural fragments of their identities in a personal way, and thus make their place and voice heard in the societies they inhabit, is the core element of the multilingual and polyphonic festival.
The team is made up of mostly queer and migrant people who want to celebrate, empower and further connect different communities with the help of music and art. İÇ İÇE is more than just a cultural event: it is a place of gathering and respectful exchange with each other through various formats and collaborations İÇ İÇE appears as a festival, club event or with their community event BIZ BIZE as an intervention in public space in Körnerpark Neukölln and increasingly appears outside of Berlin – to reach people all over Germany, such as in Hamburg, Heidelberg or Munich.
