Danilo Timm (Dan, Timm, they/them,) is a Brazilian-born artist whose journey from amateur theater to award-winning musical theater productions such as Hair, paved the way for a diverse musical career. After relocating to Berlin, Germany, in 2014, Timm ventured into various musical endeavors, including co-founding the improv-electrónica group Passiflora Live and neo-tropicália band Aquafaba as well as founding and becoming the musical director, arranger, composer, and co-producer of the pop choirs Heart Chor and Oh My Choir!
Dan’s latest project, “NiLØ,” is a musical compilation spanning the last decade of their life, exploring themes of gender fluidity and cultural transformation. It consists of 10 episodic tracks narrating Timm’s transformative experiences in Berlin.
With influences ranging from Brazilian icons like Djavan and Caetano Veloso to contemporary soul and r&b artists like Liniker, Danilo Timm’s music fuses Brazilian grooves, synth-pop beats, and neo-soul riffs, jazzy tunes, and even a bit of schlager.
Danilo Timm’s voice is an undeniable highlight, reflecting their years as a musical theater performer and vocal coach. As Matheus Nascimento of Brazilian magazine O Grito! aptly put it in words, “It’s always impressive to witness artists like Danilo who are aware of their vocal production quality.”
Their musical live performances captivate and inspire audiences to accept and embrace themselves by adding a bit of color, spark and warmth through yummy words and sounds. As a composer, Dan writes lyrics in English, Portuguese and German.
Timm also celebrates their femininity as drag queen Dolores Delight with deeply entertaining storytelling and cabaret karaoke advocating for free love and acceptance of queer identities.
