Info:
Christoph Titz is a German trumpet player/composer and producer living in Berlin. This new track ‚Walking the Corner‘ is one of his new solo-album. After 7 studio and 2 live albums it will be his 10th release. Inspired probably a bit by the 80s and the Miles Davis masterworks Decoy and Tutu, Titz created this song with a lot of electronic sounds and beats combined with played bass (Thomy Jordi) and percussion (Alfonso Garrido).
This kind of challenge between the genres describes in the best way Christoph’s trumpet style. From lyrical to hardbop or fusion including afro-latin and in former times arabian influences and of course jazz.
And that’s exactly what is making this music work so well: those ever attracting opposites, unifying so effortlessly by the power of a special mindset of its players, led by Christoph. Something that works simply because he is just being himself in every note and with every bar. Which is not only rather pleasant to listen to, but even more so maybe the biggest compliment to a musician who has arrived in his own comfort zone, sharing his vision.
