Barrie Kosky was artistic director and chief director of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2012 to 2022. As an internationally sought-after director, he presents productions all over the world.
At the Komische Oper Berlin, he has staged productions including Die Zauberflöte, as well as Rigoletto, La Belle Hélène, Moses und Aron, La bohème, West Side Story, Pelléas et Mélisande, Anatevka and Candide. At the end of its first season, the Komische Oper was named “Opera House of the Year” by Opernwelt magazine. Kosky has also been honored with many different awards for his extraordinary productions, his staging courage and his wealth of ideas, including the “International Opera Award” and the critic’s prize “Director of the Year”.
